Dog Skin Solutions - Hoplink Instructions

After you have signed up with Clickbank to generate your affiliate account so you can get paid for every order of the Dog Skin Solutions book that comes through your referral link, you are ready to start promoting and marketing the book.

The process of marketing the Dog Skin Solutions book is simple. All you need to do is place your special referral link or "Hoplink" anywhere and everywhere you think is relevant (websites, emails, etc.), or anywhere you think people who would be interested in finding out about the book would be visiting. 

There are many ways to get your affiliate link in the right hands. Some examples are; on your own webpage, in an e-zine article, on related websites (animal or pet sites), on a facebook or twitter post, or in an email that you send out to your database of followers. When someone clicks on your link they are taken to the Dog Skin Solutions.Com website. These referral or affiliate links (that include your Clickbank nickname) are called “Clickbank hoplinks” and it's how Clickbank keeps track of the traffic you send to Dog Skin Solutions.com to give you credit for the book sales you generate.

This is why it is so important to create your hoplinks correctly. If you use the wrong hoplink, you will not get credit for the sales that you generate and all your efforts will not reap the rewards you are hoping for. 

To create your hoplink correctly simply follow these steps:

1) The standard Clickbank hoplink format is: http://xxxxxxx.vendor.hop.Clickbank.net

'dogskins' is my vendor name (our product ID), so it looks like this:
http://xxxxxxx.dogskins.hop.Clickbank.net

2) All you have to do is insert YOUR Clickbank affiliate nickname in the place where the xxxxxxx is located.

For example, if your affiliate nickname is joyce27 (this is just an example. Always use YOUR nickname), then the hoplink would look like this:

http://joyce27.dogskins.hop.Clickbank.net

It's that simple. When someone clicks through YOUR hoplink, they are directed to www.DogSkinSolutions.com and a small tracking file also called a “cookie” is linked to the computer of the visitor. This "marks" that visitor as coming from your link and when he or she buys the program you'll be credited for the sale and earn the 50% commission.

An important note about Clickbank cookies: Clickbank uses 60 day cookies (tracking files that are linked to the visitor's computer), so if the people you send to DogSkinSolutions.com purchase the book any time within the next 60 days of first clicking on your hoplink, Clickbank will recognize them, and you will get the commission for the sale of the book(currently a 50% commission rate of net sale, or approximately $13.50 USD). 

Another important tip: It has been tested and proven that people who realize they have clicked on an affiliate or referral link from someone who gets a commission from their purchase, the person's guard comes up and they are less likely to buy the product. This is usually only for people that you may not have a personal relationship with (for example if you purchase an email or traffic list). To prevent such a scenario or make it hard for people to know that they are clicking on an affiliate link, most experienced affiliate marketers hide their affiliate hoplink using a process called "link cloaking."
